So, here it is my first realistic painting!

Digital impressionism is really my style but well, it was a commission and they preferred realistic style. I enjoyed this challenge. Image belongs to Ediciones Babylon

I tried to show the embodiment of this well known myth when the bird starts igniting into flames and how she resigns herself to her fate.

Everything painted in Photoshop CS4 with my beloved wacom Graphire 4

. I just used a really blurred pic to add some kind of background.

About 40 hours including looking for references, taking lots of pics to myself for the pose and hand. References for the feathers were from sxc.hu and cgtextures. Reference for the face: [link]
