Yes, something a bit different to what I'm used to do. I really didn't like having the characters from behind but they wanted me to do it like this.. so :/ Not really satisfied..

Fully painted from scratch in Photoshop CS4 Extended. I just added some textures for the marble feeling on the background (cgtextures.com) and the moon is from sxc.hu.

Thanks to Marcus J. Ranum

for letting me use his stock as reference for the characters. Characters are fully painted too.

Took about 40 hours and size was about 9000x6000px to be printed at 90x60cm.. huge canvas!

very cool painting. 2112 is a spectacular song on a great album. I find it interesting that a book inspired Rush to create the song which apparently is inspiring another book.
