As someone here in DA recently said, I feel a bit like a coward when uploading something that doesn't fit my usual style and what my watchers are used to see. I sometimes feel Fantasy art is a bit kitsch, especially fairies :/ But they seem to love fantasy art and fairies in Ed.Babylon.. So I tried to mix their likes and mines to some extend. That's why I tried to avoid the typical cliche of a colorful fairy with butterfly wings and tried to portray a cold and evil fairy, yet innocent and attractive, instead.
Everything painted from scratch in Photoshop CS4 with my beloved wacom Graphire 4 Lots of self-portraits as reference. Butterflies reference is from sxc.hu.
. Background is a blurry matte painting.
About 50 hours including the time to think about what to do, taking the pics with my cam for the references and looking up for some more on the net!
